Last year I went to Nachal Og, next to the almog petrol station on the way to the Dead Sea. It was Beautiful.
Its basically a canyon and they made it so you can climb up/down. I think its like an hour and a half the whole thing.

Its cool because there are a lot of ropes etc and it feels really serious while being very easy and safe

Yes, the petrol station is full of 'em.
But in the summer vacation it's always swarming with jidelech.

Also, try the camel ride for 20 NIS.

Nachal Prat outside of Pisgat Zeev is beautiful.
Gan HaShlosha was ranked one of the most beautiful parks in the world, and it has a great museum that is usually empty to boot. Just make sure you go out to the museum, and not become stuck to the water. There is also a kangaroo park next door, but I haven't been there yet. Best to go on a non vacation day so the crowd is smaller and dressed more appropriately.

The stream has 3 places to enter it. One is Ein Prat and has an entrance fee. One is off the Alon road after Kfar Adumim and is called something like En Farah. The other is next to Mitzpe Yericho, but I haven't been there yet.

How about a nice zoo? The one in Jerusalem is supposed to be very expensive apparently.

Tel Aviv port (namel) is cute to hang out. CafeCafe is Mehadrin, but their location is subpar and it might be nicer to stick to plain coffee at a non mehadring place

expensive?  heh, go to america for a visit to some sites and then come back and things will seem very reasonably priced.   it's about 50 shek per adult for the zoo, and 40 for kids over 3. that's dirt cheap.
ramat gan safari
great safari, and zoo.   but i think it's more expensive than teh jerusalem zoo
