+1 on palmach museum and bullet factory. Hayarkon park in tell Aviv is also nice and the views from the top of the ayalon towers in tell Aviv is also nice.
Also the blind and deaf museums in cholon are unbelievable

I am not sure the Kashrus status (never been to it) - but there is a restaurant near Tel Aviv that is called Blackout and you get to experience what it is like to be a blind person. It is supposed to be a real authentic experience.

If you see a full size tree growing on a wild path, I would be surprised if a/o paskened it's a safek that it had been moved there in the last few years. We aren't choshesh for extreme situations.

Also, [/u]there are certain trees[/u] that grow low to the ground and a shoot will sprout from the tree that will go underground and come up again, halachically a new plant, and will grow fruit before it's three years.
trees that don't do that are average trees

Also, in Gush Etzion the museum from the war in '48. Really cool as well. They show you a video and then reveal the bunker right behind the screen where some of the events took place. Pretty awe inspiring.

Is that not supposed to be a surprise?

Gush Eztion Winery has a very good dairy restaurant. Nothing really to see as far as wine factory tour though wine is good.

Psagot winery is beautiful, with nice presentations about the region as well, and easily accessible by bus.

Hi, can you folk recommend a nice 4-5 star hotel in Israel? Specifically in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, as I'll be vistiting those cities in October this year.

I've heard Dan Hotels (http://www.danhotels.com) mentioned a few times - anyone got any experience of those?

Welcome to DDF. Search Israel Master thread but if you're willing to spend $$$ so in Jerusalem consider the David Citadel, King David or Mamilla Hotel.

I read through some of the forums but was not able to get a clear picture of hotels in Jerusalem.
I want a clean nice hotel that is not crazy expensive(4 *).
I have starwood points but I think it pays to just pay for the hotel.
Anyone stayed in grand court? Is it a good hechsher?
What suggestions do you have for other hotels.(no kids)

Whats the best way to get to tour miron, tzfas, tiveria? A hoffman tour- a bus?
What about kever rochel meoras hamachpeila?

Its been years since I was there so any suggestions of where to go would be greatly appreciated.
(not beaches or the like- things I cant see/do in America)

Thank you!

Grand court - I just put someone there a few weeks ago, was pretty reasonable, IIRC around 600 shekel. Hechsher - idk. It looks like a nice place.

How long are you planning on being here? You can rent an apartment. Hoffman tours - I went with them 13 years ago, it was a great time!

I've heard Dan Hotels (http://www.danhotels.com) mentioned a few times - anyone got any experience of those?

Dan hotels offer free upgrades for DDF members  ???

Ok- thank you. I think I will book the grand court.
I will be in Israel for a little over a week. I am nervous to rent an apartment I do not see firsthand.
Do you have one that you know people that stayed in?

Any other ideas besides the regular hoffman tours and the tunnel tour? I will book both of those.

Thank you

The rampart walk is very interesting, and you see a lot of things you wouldn't normally see. Just bring water if its the heat of the day.
