Thanks.

I know there seems to be disagreement here, but if one had to choose between keyara and sheyan?
when I was in Israel I was not impressed with keyara

the sheyan appetizers are nice, but at the end of the day they're vegetables.     keyaras appetizers are just as good, and they're meat.   i'd say it's a no brainer

to be honest, that seems like an odd way to base a decision

if they have cambodian rice at sheyan its definitely a must get,

meat vs vegetables?   i guess if you're a vegetarian it might be odd, otherwise...

+1

I would choose restaurants based on how good the mains are, not the appetizers, and definitely not on whether or not the appetizers are meat or not.

And on that note, Keyara has never yet gotten my steak right, which is why I stick with Sheyan.

BTW, speaking of Keyara, their salad with the green apples is amazing (provided that they get it right, of course).

the mains in both are ok.  sheyan has a bigger menu, but most of the dishes taste similar... hence, my falling back to judge based on the appetizers which they both have some really good ones.

What did you get?
i was very impressed with the tongue special as a main. the roastbeef appetizer was a waste of time imo.

as far as which one to pick, its a matter of personal choice. are you in the mood for asian or not?

Honestly, I don't care if it's Asian or not, I was just looking for the better restaurant between the two.

All in all, it seems that sheyan gets the nod, but I guess I'll make a game time decision.

That's the one.

I have a lot to say about this, as I've been doing this for almost two years, and have learned a lot of stuff the hard way. But I don't really have time now... Somebody remind me to post later, okay? :D

Okay, I finally finished my epic post about the Avis-Lufthansa deal. But I'm afraid I'll kill the restaurant discussion... Should I go for it anyway? :P

I've eaten those, I call them "heartburn mushrooms" ;D
location?
(hechsher?)
On top of "Chabad of Rechavia", if that helps.
Thanks.

Having eaten a full course meal in Sheyan, I bl"n wouldn't choose to eat there again, but that's only iMho.

I wasn't amazed by it, I think it's the lack of quality mehadrin dining that causes this.  Though I was just there once and it's already been many years.
I definitely preferred my $5 lunch special sesame chicken with fried rice delivered to EWR from New Kosher Special :D
