What are you referring to?
1) Bad mouthing various kashrus agencies
2) Families unable to eat together since each child had a different standard
3) Ppl arguing with each other about their respective level of kashrus
4) etc

Welcome to planet earth.  No arguing, no bad mouthing, just a constructive discussion, I can only see positive spiritual outcomes from that.  If its never discussed, the people in Monsey would still be eating treifos.

I'm not referring to here. I'm referring to real life.

And I'd prefer to leave it up to the rabbanim actually involved in kashrus to work out what to do and why to do it.
No need to have ploni almoni argue with john doe about why each others hechser is treif. It undoes the spiritual benefit gained through eating according to the most machmir shita.

It's part of us focusing so much on bein adom li'makom, that we often trample on bein adom li'chaveiro.

Say what you like, stay ignorant if you so wish, however you're welcome to post if you know anything that might imply to contradict what I wrote.  If you're familiar at all in the field of Kashrus, you'd know that in this field it is all about the sources you know.
Yes, it definitely is very unfortunate that it is that way, but things are very not transparent and nothing very little is talked about publicly.  If you want to blindly dig your head in the sand, you can do that as well, however just keep in mind that this is the food that you are eating, we're not talking about himmel zachen.

As far asAs the saying goes der oilem iz a goilem etc. etc. etc.
The reason is probably because many don't like some kullos that the OU uses...  Others are supposedly more machmir.
oooh, i see, so really your tattys the biggest?

So I am going to Israel next week with my family. We have young kids: 5, 3, and 6 months. Was looking for some ideas on what to do when we are there and hopefully help get off this kashrus topic that no one is interested in reading about anymore.

Landing Tuesday afternoon and picking up car from Hertz at the Airport. We are going straight to Jtown and staying at the City Center hotel which is located at 17 King George Street. Staying there until Friday morning, then going to Be'er Sheva to family for shabbos. Then to the LM Dead Sea for Sunday night and Monday night, and leaving Tuesday morning.

Any tips or ideas on what to do in Jtown, Be'er Sheva, and the Dead Sea with such small children??

why? what's the problem with those of us that are concerned about what we eat?
is you were eating in a place that was questionable on the hygiene situation would you want to know? to some of us the kashrus standard is as OR MORE important then that. no one is telling you what to do ! we are only looking for help as to what WE do, and this blog helps a lot of people.  (thanx Dan!)
BTW from a hygiene standard if you ever went inside a kitchen in some of these places you would not eat so quickly without asking questions.
as to your question for ideas with kids
the yerushalayim zoo is not a bad idea
mini Israel is also a nice place with kids
enjoy your trip

Whoa! Fire and Brimstone, much? :o

Kashrus is very important; this just isn't the thread for it. You're welcome to start a kashrus thread in General Discussion, if you'd like. So calm down, okay?
