u kidding me right?!!?

Firstly i love DE they always give the best prices, second they are a third part operator, that means they work with 4 or 5 diff companies and whichever is in the line will get the call.
If you have any questions please search and then ask. PM me for detailed help.

You wrote exactly what I wrote. :)

Because most times they don't have a car for you, they quickly call other companies for example Ramat Alon (they charge 350 shek)if they have a car nearby because a different customer paid the full fare (350 shek) he would take you instead of going home empty.

It could take them some time calling up all different companies to arrange something for you.

Call when you land
So here's what happened. I called and asked how much to Rechavia. He said 160 shekel. I said okay. The driver then said, nope, it's 180. I called back and they said it'a not 160, it's 180. I was in a rush so I just took it (Besides I still think it might have been cheaper than the regular cab prices on the line). Just wasn't nice. But thanks for the lead.

I went to Keyara again with my grandson. Very good. Had the appetizer special - a liver in wine sauce that melts in your mouth! I had a special - goulash - for the main - good. My grandson had the lambchops - he said it was excellent. We skipped dessert. What I definitely want to mention is that we went to Spaghettis in Mamilla Mall on Motzei Shabbos and I don't remember the last time I had a spaghetti pomodoro that tasted so good. You'd think, how much can they do with spaghetti. But boy was it great. My grandson had another spaghetti, forgot which one, but also very good. I had a caramel dessert, very sweet.
I'm sure you all know you could get 10% off coupons on eluna.com for a lot of these restaurants.
I was only there Thursday to Sunday morning so we only went to those two restaurants. Oh yeah, almost forgot. We went to the Plaza for the Shabbos meals. Overly expensive and absolutely nothing special.

Looking for day trip suggestions for something to do over chol hamoed that would be kid and adult friendly.  Based in Yerushalem but driving somewhere isn't an issue, although not to crazy far.  TIA.

Bring tons of water and research it online first.
Darja is amazing. I once went Channukah time- not advised.

There's no ropes, it gets extremely cold between the mountains and there were dead goats with maggots in the water that we had to swim through. Then after the miles-long walk to the bus we had to stand the whole way back. Aside from that and the almost-hypothermia we did have quite an experience.

Went back in summer and totally different.
