So After going back and forth earlier in this thread about whether I'll be able to leave Sprint due to them breaching the contract by terminating my discount the following happened:

I called Sprint a few days ago to try and remove two $36 activation fees for the two iPhones I recently purchased. They wouldn't budge. After going back and forth they said they would escalate this and follow up with a call back. I never thought they would call me back.

Today I get a phone call and it's "Jeff from the escalation department", after repeating my issue, he says there's nothing he could do regarding those fees but he could offer me a 20% off monthly for the next 24 months...
Tried to sound a bit frustrated and ended up taking it.
I'm not sure if the 20% off is just off the 1st line or the whole bill, if it's the latter it ends up working out even better than my 27% off the first line ($129).

Ultimately, even without a discount I don't think I could find a better deal than what I currently have with Sprint so I'm definitely a happy camper today :)

LOL, no clue. "Escalation" is all he said.
I really didn't ask for it, would love to know the criteria he used to just offer that out of the blue.

Update: After this phone call, I got another call from another Sprint rep. also looking to try and resolve the issue (based on the same, originally requested call back)..
... Yes, you guessed it! She credited me the two activation fees. I was done in about 90 seconds.
Now keeping my fingers triangled till my bill closes, about another week...

Lets just say it was somehow put on my acct a long time ago without me actually working for UPS.  I spoke to them and they told me if i can not verify my employment they can still give me 20% off.  Also with the escalation department.

I just spoke with a CSR from Sprint. It seems as the new policy is anytime a line gets upgraded they ask for verification for the discount.

Can anyone confirm if they lost the discount recently after upgrading a line? I know I upgraded in August  and lost the discount in September.

whoa... i upgraded in july, the guy in the store told me that i'm not gonna lose my discount. now i'm starting to be nervous... as of now i still have it. now i want to add another line to my plan, is it safe to do it??

Some have added a line just fine but you still might lose your discount.

that is what happened to me.

yes.  I was calling about something else and once i got transferred to the escalation department, I threw this in.
