I called Sprint retention and got a $25 credit on each of the next four month's bills, no renewal necessary :)

Were you at end of contract ?  If so did you have to renew  1 or 2 year contract to get credit

I got this
SprintFreeMsg: To confirm your eligibility for a Sprint discount, please visit sprint.com/verify to submit proof you qualify.
Today came.  SprintFreeMsg: We unintentionally sent you an SMS message yesterday regarding your Sprint discount. Please disregard. No action is needed.

I'd bet that. Otherwise why would retention bend over for him?

Neither out of contract nor required to renew for this.

I'm not sure why I got this, but here's the details:
1. Haven't called retention (barely CS) in over a year (maybe two).
2. My contract (on main line) is up 11/2012.
3. I explained that I pay over $1800  year to Sprint and am shopping around.
4. Got offered the above offer without extending my contract, I obviously accepted.
5. Got offered an additional $100 if I renew.
6. Was told there will be new offers during holiday season.
7. Was made aware I am upgrade-eligible on two lines, FTW! (probably going to hold out for iPhone 5 then flip)
8. CSR surprisingly told me to go to BestBuy/RadioShack for better pricing than Sprint on equipment.

Any mention of your discount?
When I called recently about my activation fee I get a scare when the rep said I looked into your discount...but then concluded by saying that my discount doesn't include waived fees

Any mention of your discount?

Two mentions, none of which scared me:
1. The $25 x4 wouldn't affect my discount, the first $25 hit already. But the $100 (for renewal) would really be $83 due to my discount (dunno where he got that from, numbers don't add up).
2. These offers are the only ones available that stack with my offers, if I didn't have an NVP discount I might've had other offers.

I just got the text again a week ago, now I got another text reminding me to verify. I don't feel too well about this...

Anyone else get these texts?

P.s. I'm not with Citi, I get the NVP discount through a different company.

I haven't and I also have a different discount. I haven't heard of them throwing anyone away still because of this.

Well I would imagine that is fairly easy for them to check to see if you really are an employee or not.

I had it for 6 years. When I got my wife her plan the guy in the store asked if I had an AOL account, as it would provide me with a 10% discount. I gave him one and when I received the bill it had the same 25% Sprint employee discount. So far my wife had it for 2 years.

Which discount did you have? Now I am starting to 'worry' - I haven't received any word that they are looking into my discount or want verification.

I guess I might be leaving Sprint soon.

For me even w/o a discount Sprint is by far the cheapest option. I have 5 lines, 3500 shared minuets, nights and weekends starting at 6 PM, Blackberry on one line, unlimited texting on 2 lines, 500 free texts on the other 3. I pay on average $145 all in.  I had the discount until last month which saved me $40 or so a month. The big downside is that the newest phone I can get is the Blackberry Tour for my BB line, and the LG Rumor for the other 4.
