Want one new card. What's more valuable SPG Bonus or Mileageplus Bonus?

30k SPG vs 50k MileagePlus?

I only feel comfortable applying for one right now. The only reason I would get the mileage plus is for the bonus as I already have a Sapphire Preferred - so would the bonus be worth it?

How much will you bw spending on the card? If not a lot I'd apply for the MPE card.

Are you looking to sell the miles/points?

If so, the MP is a no-brainer. It's 55k after $1 spend, and it is worth approx $770.

The SPG is 35k after $5,000 spend, and it is worth approx $700

I already have a platinum so I don't think SPG would offer me any more protections? But are you saying that for long-term spending it makes more sense to put my charges on SPG than Plat?

By far.
Starpoints are at least 50% more valuable than MR points.
Why do you keep the Plat card open?
