I tried registering a new EZ Pass account with a rental from Avis. I got a message that the vehicle is already registered with a different account. The CS center is now closed. Is there anything to do?

I have never had a problem using my ez pass on a rental without putting it on my account.
Just make sure it shows paid when you pull up to the toll and you're good.

What worked for me was to enter a non-existent (hopefully) licence plate number.

Opened an account as per advice in the above link @jewda;) with a fake lp# and then deleted the vehicle.

the cameras pay attention to lisence plates as well.
I know someone who used an ezpass to park at lga, and then when his friend picked hm up...gave him a different ezpass that we just used during the 15 minutes and under free parking....and when the original guy tried to use that ezpass....the lot wouldn't let him go out.

also opened an account with a fictious lp#.  Additionally be aware there's different pricing on NY and NJ programs figure out which works best for you.
