ELAL upgrades prior to flight

EL AL offers "priceline" type bidding on upgrades prior to flights, anyone here try it? success? cost? worth it? I am flying in a few weeks and there are empty seats in the business class on my flights and was wondering if it was worth the $$ or points...

They have the Economy Plus which is a little extra legroom, a leg rest and a "quicker" check in, there is also 30 hours before the flight (48 if motzai shabbos) to bid on any empty business class seats

EL AL Upgrade enables you to submit an offer to upgrade your flight ticket from Economy Class to Business Class.

Decide on how much you want to offer for the upgrade, based on your own considerations and on the range of prices that varies for each destination.
About 30 hours before flight time – or 48 hours before flight time if there is an intervening Saturday or holiday – you will receive an email informing you whether or not your offer was accepted.

If you were not upgraded, you will not be charged!
If your offer was accepted, you will be entitled to all Business Class service amenities.

If one misuses caps like done in this thread title they should be banned from using caps, IMHO.

I have heard in the past the option to upgrade after takeoff and even before takeoff, but to bid 30hrs prior saw it for the first time
