Keep in mind, if it doesn't clear before 24 hours, no one in TLV is putting you in PR1.

How do I get on standby at LAX / United without spending all day at the airport? Need to get on a flight one hour earlier than the one I booked.

Don't they sell same day confirmed standby for $75 or so? Do that and you won't need to wait. If you're stuck in LA longer come and say hi.

Most agents in TLV don't work for the airline but rather for the airport and a third party company
So it's much harder to get it done there. There are a few agents that work for United directly but that can really become a task to get this done.

People have had success when they have them call UA to work it out.
But yes, definitely harder with contract workers.

I was able to get someone on a LH issued United Business award onto a different flight in coach, they gave PR-1 status and was on top of the upgrade list. This happened yesterday.

Didn't want to fly on that flight. Was valid just not acceptable for other reasons.

Sadly, no. Was a small cabin, just 4 rows. But I doubled up two kids in one bed after takeoff.

And took the other bed? The FAs allowed that since you were ticketed in Y?
