A. This isn't a business destination, it's a leisure destination.
B. This isn't TLV.
C. Didn't say impossible, just don't count on it. I wouldn't suggested alternative flights, but my suggestions until now haven't been taken into account (Andaz, fly IAD-HNL for lie-flats, Tabis, etc), so it seems rather pointless.

I really did appreciate the other suggestions and most def gave them thought and spoke them over with my wife. None of them were realistic for me at the time other than the Andaz. I am very open to alternative flights.

Plan B failed on my HNL-EWR flight, flight was sold out. First time in my life on a flight that long not in a premium cabin. Had an E+ seat and wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

A sold out flight isn't a plan b failure, it's a pax failure.

Plan B failure is when you fail to get waitlisted despite talking to several agents and showing them where to find the protocol.

I couldn't think of another way to say it. I also dont think its a pax failure, assuming I didnt want to deal with more unethical methods.

In 5 HI trips since I got married I've yet to fly anything but CO/UA long-haul J or F

That was a different scenario. The horrific timing (if the shorter leg even opened up) and extra travel time wasn't worth it considering I had my miles transferred to HA already.

Find me a route from OGG-NYC leaving on Thursday before skiya and arriving with a reasonable time before shabbos to account for minimal delays and transit to Brooklyn.

The former wasn't available and the latter leaves after sunset. And there aren't many others.

either way I wasn't about to sacrifice a good night sleep in my comfy bed for a decent rest in a lie-flat seat.
