Does any one know if I do a plan B and on the 1st leg of journey I get upgraded but not on 2nd leg [ not ua metal ] will I get refunded for the diff?

you can't do plan B on non UA metal.

Also I would like to utilize the excursion perk and get buisness on 2nd leg.

On a Int'l UA flight now.

Had plan B set up perfectly but was number 4 on business upgrade list and no agent in Newark was willing to put me on PR-1 status because I wasn't "confirmed" in Business - only waitlisted...

What did I do wrong?

Yes, but they didn't care

They said that I wasnt confirmed in business only waitlisted, so even though I paid for business I am not considered a displaced business class passenger and dont get the PR 1 status.

You didn't go wrong anywhere.

As I've said, having done Plan B numerous times. It's a nice rule in theory but it rarely ever works without some pull

That is exactly how you book it, only in that scenario.

Getting the PR-1 part is very difficult if not impossible these days. But the wait list in many cases is enough.

Trying to upgrade a United flight ZRH-EWR next week Sunday, they only allow wait-list, and there is only 8 J seats available, and only 1 person is as of now on the wait-list (with 1K),
Do i stand any chances of being upgraded (I have *G status)?
Or maybe someone could help me to clear!
