"You may redeem miles for travel in United Global FirstSM, United First®, United Business® or United BusinessFirst® , even if the space is not available. In these cases, United Economy in the same award type must be confirmed, and the front cabin will be waitlisted. For example, a Saver United First award must be confirmed in Saver United Economy to be eligible for waitlisting. If the courtesy waitlist does not clear, it will expire 24 hours before itinerary departure, and you will automatically be added to the airport upgrade standby list upon check-in. In these cases, you will be confirmed on a space-available basis by a United airport representative at the gate once the flight has closed for check-in. For United BusinessFirst and United Business travel awards, the difference in miles will be refunded when the United BusinessFirst or United Business class segment of the trip could not be confirmed. Waitlist requests may only be made over the phone with your local United Reservations office"

It's basically impossible to find saver seats on these routes.

does this seem to be a successful plan B?
75 deducted.

This reservation is for 2 pax. does it matter? If only 1 seat opens will 1 at least clear, or since 2 pax on reservation it will not?

Yup.
If there's 2 on the res you'll need 2 open seats to clear.
If you're willing to be separated then split it.

Just noticed that seperating can be done online, which is great.

Reservations.
agent tried a few times. I told  that previous time the agent told me to mention CORE... and asked, you know what I mean? She says, go ahead, what is it that you wanted....
anyway got a supervisor that had to contact another dept while I was on hold, and I received the reservation right away.

Do I have a good chance to get a plan B through? Flight shows that there are 15 seats still avail. This is for this Thurs 4pm flight from EWR-TLV. I'm confirmed saver economy as of now.

Just got off the phone with agent. He insists that he did it correctly even though he did not yet deduct the extra miles for business saver. Is he correct? He says I have a good chance as there is only one person ahead of me. See attached

No, that's a regular waitlist. It can still work, but plan B requires that the miles be deducted.

The waitlist should’ve cleared already as the flight is I3 right now.

Checked in and says added to Upgrade Standby List on the boarding pass, but don't even see myself on the list. What does that mean?
