If your transferring amex them why don't you use AC for TK flights, which have no YQ ?

Good to know!  I didn't read the * next to AC carefully enough in the UIMAC.   Thanks!

I was told that there is no YQ for UA TLV-NYC booked with SQ.

And when was the last time you found availability for that?

What I usually do is I book with SQ with a stop in EU, and I had a few times that very close up UA opens and then I pay a change fee of $20

Hoping someone here can help

I need 5 one way tickets TLV-ORD and have these points  available:

160,000 united
130,000 american
110,000 Chase UR
50,000 Citi TY
65,000 Amex

What are my options in terms of airlines using these points (other than booking through united with my UR points)?

Thanks!

Get some star alliance tickets with your United miles and move whatever other points to Singapore to fly on the same flights with less points.

SQ allows OW redemptions on partner airlines?

Yep, BUT they do charge fuel fees.

Any other options - no star alliance flights that work...

Did you search on the ANA website?  They show everything: Turkish, Austrian, Brussels, Lufthansa, etc.

FlyingBlue is 25k for a one way saver award. While I doubt you'll find any DL availability, you might find AZ, AF or KL though you will have to pay YQ (AZ is usually lowest, or if you are lucky to get a DL transatlantic leg you will save even more on YQ).

Also note that FlyingBlue might not show you all available connections. SU and RO often have availability out of TLV with very low YQ, and then search separately from SVO or OTP to ORD. You will need to call to book, but you can search online for separate legs that might not come up on a TLV-ORD search.

Yes.  I think the problem is that they don't have 5 tickets available

AMEX MR
Citi TYP
SPG (very slow)
And UR. Obviously, MR and TYP would generally be recommended, as UR and SPG are more valuable.

What would the taxes+YQ be on PHL-FRA-TLV on LH booked with SQ?

Check http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ with your exact dates/flights to get accurate info, but just picking random dates and assuming round trip, here's what you're looking at:

LH YQ surcharge (YQ)
$561.00
LH YR surcharge (YR)
$17.50
US International Departure Tax (US)
$17.80
US September 11th Security Fee (AY)
$5.60
US Passenger Facility Charge (XF)
$4.50
USDA APHIS Fee (XA)
$3.96
US Immigration Fee (XY)
$7.00
US Customs Fee (YC)
$5.50
US International Arrival Tax (US)
$17.80
Israel Departure Passenger Airport Tax International (IL)
$24.63

There's a reason why LH and BA have more award availability!

I would also guess that you could find out by seeing what Aeroplan (AC) shows for YQ on those flights.

I'm not a YQ maven (actually barely understand how it works) so wasn't sure if it can vary depending on which airline I book through.
