cant tell you that. It becomes extremely narrow too.

Coverage insurance provide by credit card is only available for customers from USA and CANADA.

In this case, the customer have to bring the proof that his credit card provide insurance.

International driving licensce is mandatory for foreign customers.

Unfortunately with all companys outsourceing their call centres and email responders, please do not expect knowledgable responses. Ive had the craziest stories lately, I think we should open a special thread for it. - although some times it does work in my favour.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that the Europcar reps responding to these messages (and the ones that I've spoken to through their UK customer service #) are all clueless. The question is how best to get to the bottom of this issue? Whose decision is it? Does Europcar Corporate leave it entirely up to the Israelis to reject WMC insurance, or could we try to get Europcar Corporate to dictate how Europcar Israel should be handling this? If Europcar is really the only agency in Israel that rejects WMC coverage, there's no reason they shouldn't be explaining why they take this position.

A month ago I rented at Sixt in Europe, the agent and manager outright refused to accept my cc insurance.

Has anyone been turned down with a letter of coverage? I would think you could expect that treatment now from Europcar in Israel.

I ended up reserving a minivan from National/Europcar via expedia for about $100 a week, and then reserving the same car from national directly for about $450 a week under my wifes name. Hopefully I will have a car waiting for me when I get to ben Gurion, but if not, guess what!? I also reserved a car from Avis!!!

What are you getting with the direct reservation for the extra $350? I'm pretty sure your standing is pretty much the same with Expedia, as it is with the direct reservation, so long as you're not paying for the rental now.

I made a reservation through 121carhire.com (british rental broker) for a "fullsize (mini)van" (Toyota Previa or similar) in Tel Aviv, since they offered a good rate for full size minivan, and it also indicated that Third Party Liabilty insurance was included. As expected, the reservation ended up being with Europcar, and the email confirmation/voucher that 121carhire sent me said the vehicle would be a Fullsize - Toyota Innova or similar. However, it also showed a vehicle type code of "SVAR" which I know stands for "Standard" at Europcar, which would be a Toyota Verso (compact minivan).

So I emailed 121carhire and asked them to clarify which type and size minivan I had reserved, since there seemed to be a conflict between 121carhire's Fullsize reference and use of the SVAR code, and Europcar's designation of the SVAR code (as being a compact Toyota Verso). Here's the response that I got from 121carhire. As an aside, 121carhire charged my (WMC) credit card in full for the rental.

You will received Toyota Innova or similar (7 Seater)- FVAR.
We have a different Code to the supplier, the vehicle will seat 7 Passengers with 3-4 luggage

Using the Europcar confirmation number that 121carhire provided me with, I then checked my reservation on Europcar's website, and as expected, Europcar still shows that I have reserved a SVAR Toyota Verso (compact minivan).

Now I'm pretty sure that the Verso would not be big enough for me, and I'm guessing that when I show up at Europcar in TLV, they will not honor what my email from 121carhire says.
Obviously it would be a good idea to hedge and reserve a car with a different agency just in case.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

It's a good deal if they actually give me a full size, but the problem is that Europcar's code is for he standard size, and the broker is telling me that it's for a fullsize.

what are your dates? does priceline have those dates avail for same price?
