Best winter destination for couple

I'm looking for someplace warm and somewhat exotic to visit in the winter late Dec earl Jan with my wife for one week.

I'd like some input on destination ideas. I'm considering Hawaii but before I decide I want to weigh my options.

I'll probably be using United miles.

Far. I think new Zealand and australia are beyond the limits though.
