Why is my Avios Reservation on AA "PriorityAAccess"

My Boarding passes for my BA redeemed flight on AA is showing "PriorityAAccess" I am very happy that it is there, im just wondering why it's there.

I have a AA Bizz World Mastercard - my aadvantage is linked to this reservation
I am a poshiter "blue" avios memmber
I have children on my reservation
I am not any level of elite in aa



According to here: http://www.aa.com/i18n/urls/priorityaaccess.jsp I dont see how I fit in.

If you have a infant could be that gave you priority access , But I am Not sure about PriorityAAccess.

Interesting idea:

According to aa.com

"PriorityAAccess" is noted on the boarding pass, so there is no need to show a membership card or other documentation.
Simply show your boarding pass, and you're on your way!

So all one has to do is print the boarding passes to PDF and then add the words "PriorityAAccess" and then he can skip lines and board early..

(or alternatively in chrome you can add the words onto the actual boarding pass before printing..)

I know that in the past this trick has worked (with changing names) for getting past security to go with someone to the gate or pickup someone - not sure if it still works, they dont scan the barcode, so unless there is some sequence to the ticket numbers based on the names (which i doubt) then it should still work. You may also end up visiting the TSA holding cells...

I think avios reservations have priority access for some reason

Seems to me avois always has priority access. Flew a couple times to Dtw cle yyz etc always got priority access.

I flew on Avios and got priority AAcess too, for no apparent reason. Never knew why, but not complaining

Your referring to the names part, not the adding of Priority Access right?

Yeah. Boarding passes are indeed scanned by TSA at some airports.

Though, now that I think about it, I think the scanning is simply to determine validity and does not display a name when scanned so as to be used to check against the ID....

That said, I'm sure it's a no-no to add Priority Access to a BP, but not sure if it breaks any laws.

The names part is an issue and can end up giving you a tour of the holding cells... the priority should not be an issue. (I dont think these are federal or official documents..)

Don't have to be AFAIK. They could be governed by FAA regs...

You don't. Its automatically there just by using avios on AA
