Im not talking against the German agents, nor putting them down either. Nor did I say it doesnt apy to go to that Lounge (I havnet been in it and the few times Ive been thru FRA it was just enough time to daven and time for my connecting flight, just the way I LOVE it to be, but thats Me).

My pt was its OK to ask and say , excuse I we are looking to get to the FCT is there a way to get there other then walking there, does LH supply a means of transport. If they say yes Great go for it, if they say what are U talking about theres no such lounge or no we dont supply transport. Simply say Thank You and head on over on your own 2 feet. If they ask why do U want to go there when there are Lounges in here Dedicated for you, you can tell them something but it shouldnt be Lame like oh I heard its much nicer over there, or I want to try 100 different top Scotches or I want to get my moneys worth out of my tkt. After all its not meant as a Transit Lounge

It seems its really acheck-in Lounge and at some Airports once you tell them you want to Exit the Secure area look at.
Agreed, which is why I did what I did in FRA...walk there on my own 2 legs.
Have you ever flown through FRA in LH F? If you do it's really a shame to never check out the FCT.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Nope, did UA in Biz as an OPUP a few times :-)) but usually I fly Coach.

I didnt forsee Eli making a rukuss but there are all different types on this site and I could forsee where someone wouldnt have understood everything and would be standing there saying How dare you treat a FC person this way etc etc when its not a Benefit for a Transiting FC person and theyd be ona free tkt to boot. sort of like watching these same types at the Car Rental counter at TLV swearing at the agent that they better not charge them for Liability coverage since their printout and res didnt say they had to have it etc etc. Funny a person I know tried that and really went NUTS they simply refused to rent them acar in the end under any circumstances, they didnt believe me when I told them no way will you drive away w/o paying for Liability, heck they ended up not driving away at all. They did get a car for alot more $$ the next day in town via another company. But Im sure the counter agents had only nice thoughts about these Frum guys after they left,NOT

Whoa! We got a lot of talk here. Everybody relax. I won't make a rukess. I'll ask them to transport me and my wife because it's 5am (landing time) and we have 5 hours till our next flight.

Oh, and just BTW, the Germans have been pretty good in the past at "transporting" Jews. They transported about 6 million of them in the 1940's. I doubt they forgot what it's like.

so why go to the FCT when theres the FCL within the secure area? We understand why but they wont, and as I said above Eli I didnt think you would make a stink about it, but others will that was my concern. ive been turned away from Lounges Im allowed entrance to simply since I wasnt traveling with my Card, happened to me with BA (my AA status gets me in , and LH my CO and UA status gets me in) and both times I simply turned away and went on my merry way. With BA I was able to eventually get a print out showing my status , only since I was wearing a yamaka that time I didnt want her to think I was trying to get in w/o being entitled to. She apologized and said she did think I was up to no good, but that the rules still required that I present my AA card (was FIMed from CO to BA), I told her I didnt print it in order to get in but instead to show her I wasnt making upa story and BSing her. She then said Thanks and said if I wanted to I could go in and grab a couple of drinks but that I couldnt stay inside, I said Thanks but its almost time to board the flight now anyway.

had to do the same thing in London where there was a long layover but they allowed me in based on the printout. LH is known no *Gold card = No Entrance you can stand on your head for all they care you wont be allowed in, of cause flying Biz or FC gets you in

I had that problem getting into aLounge in AMS as I wasnt connecting further on and they didnt want to let me in, when my friend saw me he came over and they wanted to see his tkt, in the end they told us both to Please leave as its not an Arrival lounge and werent happy that some how he was able to gain entrance

I'll tell you a True story

One Shabbos a number of yrs ago in the Ranban shul in The Jewish Quarter of The Old City during Musof a group of camera yielding German tourists walked in

It was explained to them by my friend (I wasnt there) that its the Jewish Sabbath and its forbidden to take pictures, but they are welcomed back any other time to do so. Most started to leave but 1 explained that they wont be able to come back and that he wanted some pictures of an Orthodox Shul, at which myfriend simply remarked , then who told you guys to destroy and burn all the ones down in Europe as you did. The German turned Red and did a Exit Stage Left ASAP

Perhaps that's what makes being transported from the FCT in a Porsche onto the plane oh so sweet...

My DD (dear dan), you are used to usa lounges, where i always wonder, why did i walk those extra 150 yards to get there.

In the fcl in fra or muc you will get the same level of perfection, except the person accompanying you inside which is nice.

I prefer muc (besides the kosher meal part which i never managed to receive).

You need to go outside security.
Either you can go to First Class check-in and they'll provide transportation or you can just make a left outside the airport and walk for 5 minutes to the FCT.  Once there ring the bell and someone will escort you inside.
Be sure to let them know it's a special occasion and you want the Porsche to take you to the plane.

Try emailing LH in TLV to order kosher meals in FRA at: tlvgpmiles@dlh.de

Let me know if they are able to do that as otherwise I have a phone number somewhere that also may be able to arrange them.

So far no response. What are my other options?

you can call senator germany, ask them to forward a request to the catering service, asking obviously for kosher and stating what you would like to eat.

doesnt always work....

You want to sample at least 10 different $200+ scotches  :D
;D

And the Germans in the lounges were some of the nicest people I've ever encountered on this planet.  They went completely out of their way from the staff, to chauffeur, to the FA's and pilot, to keep my trip itinerary a secret from my wife.
Well, almost...

if I have a business class ticket tlv-fra-jfk on LH using CO miles. can I change it to First without paying a change penalty of $150? It is more than 21 days in advance.

I think the fee is only for changing origin and destination but I'm not sure.
But keep in mind, if you do change to F you'll have to pay the miles required for a F ticket even if don't fly all the legs in F.
