As so many of us will be jetting off to Israel in the coming months, how about some topics discussing the best of... I will start with falafel as I love a good falafel, and it is the one food not replicated well here in the Diaspora.

It will be entertaining to see the comments of many people who have not bee to Israel in many years discussing the places of yore, and people who have been there recently cluing us in on the new gems.

I have 2 favorite falafel places. They are Falafel Siya on the corner of Bar Illan and Tzefanya, and Shalom Falafel on Betzalel.

+1 to shalom falafel.
Loved their little hot peppers they have there as well.

Miros chumus would be #1 in the chumus category. The place in the Bukharian Shuk on Rechov Yoel is a great alternative to traditional falafel as it is served in a Malawach.

What's the soda machine place across from the Mir? Also pretty good. But it was better before they raise their prices.

In Yerushalayim I like the Falafel at Rav Shefa.
In Bnei Brak Falafel Nachum is amazing.

In Tivera there is a place by the shops off the water there that is great too especially after a long day of water sports on the kinneret. No idea what it's called.

I also enjoy many of the CafeCafe locations for a nice milchig/parve meal.

In Yafo there is a fish restaurant off the water that is amazing. Also have no clue what it's called.

When you're really hungry...nothing beats a falafel!

Best falafel in town is by far uzis on yeshayahu a block up from brisk every cab driver and bus driver stop there
