Last Name Mistake
« on: August 16, 2012, 05:54:15 AM »
I got 3 ELAL tkts from ORD-TLV , my baby has 3 names, by mistake we put the 3 name in the last name box.

I try calling Expedia and they cannot do any thing, im trying to call ElAl and they put you in hold forever!

Any ideas?
What if we show up and try to explain the mistake and show them the passport and birth certificate?

Tnx

Call El Al and have them put an OSI into the ticket stating the correct name. You should be fine. Bring all your documents that you would normally.

Other Service Information. Its a way to add information on to a ticket that the airline can see. They will understand.

I asked this before in the middle of the El Al craze and it sort of got overlooked. Hoping someone will be able to help now...
I booked a ticket for my mom for the El Al deal using her preferred name ("susie") instead of legal name ("susan"). Of course, El Al is refusing to change it. Any advice? Will an OSI help here?

I did that just yesterday - waited on hold for 45 minutes but got it - and they said to bring marriage certificate for the customs...
Worth waiting on hold tho, because I tried israel, didn't wait at all and they tried to get me to cancell, stating there is NOTHING they can do to help - not even add a middle name.
Good luck!

I have my maiden name on the ticket and my married name on the passport.
Also btw I since then called TSA customs contact and they said bringing a marriage certificate to show you're the same person they WOULD accept in the airport

For the TSA rule for domestic flights as long as you have valid ID your ok. That is officially. its the airlines rule that name must match ticket.

I have even got through without any ID just showed them a CC and copy of license and passport
