Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

HP Envy desktop
i5-14400F (+$170-i714700F is a good move)
16GB RAM ($60 for 32GB, more or less what you would pay for doing it yourself)
512GB SSD ($70 for a TB is highway robbery)
RTX 4060 (takes $10 off the price - a steal - but you have to ask for it)
500W power supply (400W is asking for trouble - the upgrade costs $20, make sure you do it)
(Price doesn't include kb/mouse - $14 for wired and $29 for wireless)
Price for specs not in parenthesis: $660.
The protection plans are free if you don't use them.

Take advantage of Chase card offers that will give $50 cashback for this.

The jump in desktops from i3s to i5s means that you don't often see that kind of performance at that price. It is true, though, that you can double your performance for a mere $100.

All garbage until $600.
Get this if you need small ($610): https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/optiplex-micro-form-factor/spd/optiplex-7020-micro/s005do7020mffus_vp#customization-anchor
This is a better system if bigger is okay ($600). Consider the RAM upgrade to 16GB (2x8GB) if you won't do it yourself. The $100 for the i7-14700 is also money well spent. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/xps-desktop/spd/xps-8960-desktop/usexpsthcto8960rpl17?view=configurations

I definitely think that if you are looking to save money go with an 8GB and pop a second 8GB stick of DDR5 RAM in yourself for about $20. These XPS desktops are so easy to open and upgrade even with no experience.

One note with the XPS is that it does not have HDMI and does not support 2 monitors unless you upgrade to the Nvidia graphics card

Wow, how cheap of them... They couldn't have even put in a second DP?

The XPS ships with a DP to HDMI adapter.
I am using an XPS 8960 right now with two monitors and no dedicated graphics card for now. For the second monitor I have a USB to HDMI adapter.
