Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

$429.99, 404.99 with amex $25 credit.

i5 12GB RAM, 1TB 7200 RPM Win 8.1 desktop.

Great deal IMO.

This was a great deal, even better with the 24" monitor,  but by that afternoon they were gone.  Any posts of similar deals with Cyber Monday coming up would be great.

Price WAS $599 without the monitor compared to the $429.  It was in my cart for $429 showing in stock until I went to pay for it.   :(   From the moment I saw the $599 price last night it was OOS.

Can you do your magic again, Moishel, and find another one like this deal?

http://www.costco.com/Dell-XPS-8700-Desktop-%7c-Intel-Core-i7-%7c-4GB-Graphics.product.100131027.html

This is 16gb ram i7 for $699. plus ship and tax.

Not cheap but for the price is it a good deal?

Includes costco phone concierge to help with setup etc, never used that so i dont know if it has any value.

Here the same model with win7 for $449

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M82HZRE/ref=gb1h_tit_c-2_7042_4c8a1836?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0PK1Y778F5JKZA19RZZF&pf_rd_i=5550342011&pf_rd_p=1990147042#productDetails
According to your link it is an i3 processor instead of an i5.  Also, your link shows 4gb and not 8gb.  BestBuy has the windows 7 model of your great find upthread with 8GB instead of 12GB, but everything else is the same for $529.

If this is by chance the wrong link, I would very much like to see the i5, 8GB link for $449.  Thanks tons.

Pretty proud of myself. after talking with dell support today, seems like this code: WGMMXSN0C70WFD is still working on Dell (just tried after midnight tuesday morning ny time) for 35% off all Outlet items (mostly certified refurbs, with 1 year warranty +amex). grabbed the XPS One with all my specs for $1216 including NY tax. u can find XPS desktops here (http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&brandid=2202&fid=5991), code seems to work on all and on all laptops too (can get a nice i5-4210U Inspiron with a 17 touchscreen for about $420)... This seems relatively HOT to me. if only i had signed up for the 200 off 1000 Amex Twitter offer before it sold out...

In the options of the items you can change it to i5 and 8GB, but the price went up by now. Sorry.

choice between two desktop AIOs - is it worth it to pay $300 more for 16GB memory (instead of 8GB, note 2 4gb dimms instead of 2 8gb dimms, only 2 slots) and a blueray player? decided against it but having second thoughts. can i run a normal i7-4770S Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.9 GHz) pc at 8GB or should i upgarde to 16 for full power?

shiframeir: Which 2 AIOs are you looking at?

Can anyone comment on these to AIOs I purchased? Planning on keeping just one. Are either great deals? both are $700

2 versions of the dell xps one 27, had choice of first model for 1210 or model with 16gb, win8 pro and blu Ray player for 300 more. Chose cheaper.

Nice. Do you have an opinion on the two models I'm looking at? Know anything about AMD processors?

would just note that Woot regularly has these AIOs from HP on sale (factory refurbs) for around 500 if u want to wait for them to put these back up. they usually are under the Computers tab, there was a sale last week on them.

i'm still not sure i was right on the 8GB for $300 less, will see if its really annoying to upgrade (will prob need to buy 2 8GB dimms).

as expected, here they are again, note the i5 (3rd gen) with full hd for 499 http://www.woot.com/plus/desktops-aios-2?ref=cnt_wp_1 again, most are refurbs with 90 day warranties, but some exceptions, like the nice 23-inch Dell for under 700.
