Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

For Win &, no bargains.  New ones with decent specs are less.  Thanks.

One last Q.  How important is i7 over i5?

For biz machines I usually go Dell Optiplex or Lenovo Think Centre. What''s the budget you had in mind?
Any good deals on these models now?

For i3 you shouldn't have any difficulty finding something, You can probably even find an i5 for a little more than that.

I am looking for an i5@3.4 GHZ (recommended specs from software provider) desktop for business office use.  Looking in Del outlet after coupon code they are approx $700 for an Optiplex 9020.  Is that a decent price?

use code 3C2V?F4FN73Z04 for 33% today 1/20 only on all Dell outlet stuff (refurbs etc with full 1 year warranties) http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/22/campaigns/gdo_consumer_weekly_sale_dfh?c=us&&dgc=EM&cid=284972&lid=5444772&acd=12309159430259878. I got an XPS One 2720 all-in-one a month or so ago with a 32gb SSD plu 2gb SATA (and the Killer N wireless card) for about $1200 (2000+ at dell reg) and after upgrading the RAM to quality 16GB Cl9 (got the pair of Corsair Vengeance 8GBs for 149 on amazon) and having a service guy come and fix the fan (was getting to warm at the top for me to trust it long term, but now much cooler, guy came quick and did it in an hour), i am very happy with it.

Thanks for the quick response, have mostly been with Dell till now.  Not much multitasking (think word, pdf and a browser at the same time).
