Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

Is it working well now that it was cleaned?

It takes extremely heavy use to need an i7 desktop much more important is 8gb ram and an SSD also makes a big difference (I'm not referring to laptops because they have very weak processors unless you pay a lot of money for them)

I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

run ccleaner it can make a huge difference (just uncheck all the browser boxes besides for the cache, and if you have anything you may need in the recycle bin uncheck that too otherwise use the defaults)

also run windows updates

there's a good chance that there's some malware also, I would run combofix from bleepingcomputer (speak to a techie first) and consider installing Norton, you can but it as an instant download on amazon for real cheap, and it could save you a new computer. there's no reason you should be having issues. I relied on MS Security Essentials for years, but stuff is getting through it lately.

for malware just use malwarebytes and Norton wouldn't be my first choice of antivirus

he's the expert, listen to him. Just sharing personal experience and my IT guys recommendation when I had similar issues, but it's not my expertise.

Now, to get this back on topic, I need 3 good office machines, min 8 gb ram, pretty urgently. nothing fancy, just reliable and quick. I am replacing my last i5's with 4 gb ram, non expandable now, and they're not cutting it. Any leads?

I didnt notice anything don't have time to search around
you can benchmark the processors at cpubenchmark.net it should at least be close to 5000, you can find a good i3 in that range and since it doesn't have the name i5 it will be cheaper if you think you found something you can post it and i'll try to look at it

Is this overkill for an office machine? https://www.dropbox.com/s/y0d7xzn194hq1gz/Screenshot%202015-06-10%2011.04.50.png?dl=0
Can it support two screens?
Did very well on the benchmark

Good choice

If you can get SSD for about $85 each and have someone change them out it would make that a great long lasting computer
