Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

So what's the consensus about Windows 10? I made sure to get win7 last year when buying but I need to buy again now. Win 10 okay?

i5 dell desktop $399.99 -$20 with visa checkout
I was gonna go for this but erev shabbos rush didn't allow...
Now that it's out of stock I might as well ask:
What's the regular rate for i5 & i7 respectively?
Something along the lines of the above mentioned specs.

Looks like no warranty if I add an ssd since i'd be breaking some kind of seal but I went for it...
Paid with an amex, hope that helps somehow...

Replacing a hard drive should not brake any seal

In any case, there's no clear indication that there is a warranty included altogether.. Unless I didn't look well enough.

How come the laptop thread is blazing and this thread is stuck?...

I'm looking to get another PC in addition to my laptop (which I use as a desktop most of the time, stationary on my desk connected to big monitor).

I need an additional machine and was thinking to go for a desktop since one of them does not need to be movable.
Also, I was under the impression that:

a) Laptop/desktop with similar specs, desktop is always cheaper.
b) Desktop will take longer until it starts becoming slow/"old".
c) The fact that you don't move around the desktop makes it less prone to hard drive damage.

The above mentioned points are what's keeping me from buying another laptop and doing the same thing which I'm doing with my current laptop.

Can someone please confirm/deny the above points and if there's any pros/cons to add please mention them?

I would greatly appreciate it.

A) is absolutely true, b) is one of the effects of a c) is not much of an issue especially if you put in an SSD

(Most i3 desktops are better than most i7 laptops)
