Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

Really? I have a bunch if the Dell Optiplex 3020 Micro that we have been using for about a year so far and no problems. I think they are a similar size.
What are you using it for? One year is not a great metric.

Office and internet (our medical records system is web-based).
True about a year not being a great metric. Is there anything I could do to keep it cooler?

Clean it out with a dust sprayer!! For a more long term solution you can upgrade to a liquid cooling system, unless you are a bit tech (or you trust your YouTubeAbilty) You would have to get a Tech to do the upgrade. Another easy fix is to make sure its not just shoved into a corner, make sure that the area were the fan is located, has at clearance of ar least 15cm (aprox. 6").

Looking for a good machine for basic day-to-day activities...   Web surfing, Microsoft office, video streaming, maybe a little video editing ...    But also something with a large hard drive for a lot of photos and videos as I am not good at backing up or online storage.
I'm guessing this machine is too heavy-duty for my needs?
Which deal do you recommend for a solid machine to last a many years?
(preferably something with touchscreen, but not necessary.)

Desktops don't have screens, you buy a monitor and your monitor can be touchscreen but that will be very expensive

Yea - just thinking in terms of system packages with screens (if there is such a thing) because I need both.

When buying from Dell they sometimes may give you a deal on adding a screen. However if you buy from a Retail Store such as Walmart, Staples or Costco [insert comment of Costco being wholesale here] they should have packages that include screens and sometimes even speakers.

Setting yourself up for major disaster, the larger the drive the faster they often fail. Having a large hard drive is more of a reason to back up, the size of the drive doesn't help you when it ultimately fails.

Any of the upgrades worth it? Does it matter which graphics card option I choose if I will be connecting 2 monitors?

Don't need any additional hardware to connect 2 monitors, it only requires basic display port adapter. I wouldn't upgrade by them, its generally cheaper to add ram and ssd later.
