Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

Is anyone familiar with the different Optiplex lines - 3000, 5000, 7000? Are those differences in build quality?

What would you recommend given the choice of a 3000 with 16GB of RAM, or a 5000 with 8GB?

Also, any thoughts on Micro vs SFF?
No personal experience, but I took a quick look. It seems like the higher series have built in capability for better hardware (cooling, etc). For instance, the 3000 would max out at a 180 power supply but the 5000 maxes out at 500. The dimensions are identical - I would venture to say the case for the same size is identical - but the 5000 would probably have more efficient cooling. On the other hand, the 3000 should cost you less to run. I would happily take the 3000 over the 5000 - hardware is what matters here.
Micro is smaller. That's it. (My father uses a micro with a Ryzen 5 and is very happy.)
Agav, did you check Dell Outlet? Same company - but often much better prices. You should be able to use your rewards on it, too. (Make sure you get new, or at least scratch and dent, unless you don't mind saving some money and buying refurbished. The warranty from Dell is the same, either way.)
In a general sense, some micro computers randomly come with laptop processors. They would be fine to use but are a supreme waste of money considering you could get desktop processors for the same price. (Laptop procs end in G4/G7/U/H.)

Examples from Outlet: $475 (scratch and dent - that means cosmetic damage) after the 13% off coupon, 10th gen i5 - https://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?c=us&cs=28&l=en&s=dfb&sign=PXhcOSHtr1T4IOw%2fPR7UdWzguj%2b5vJzWJddCfqt0A%2f3vl91j%2fB%2bhBBM34PhTlPnqM5KanZVGsWrJvGglEbwAajb1CvcQTwaY8flg8XT3nIL%2bXehTbwso06JdutamjXooU%2f36ChdMftBZ%2fhxkYOdDmgJ1uirVITvJi1CDXQqRV60%3d
$532 with 12th gen i5 (S&D) https://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?c=us&cs=28&l=en&s=dfb&sign=PXhcOSHtr1T4IOw%2fPR7UdWzguj%2b5vJzWJddCfqt0A%2f3X2Kylg1CI2trFH9B%2ffWuiDwwL%2bmrN2AHjYVIckQxjZTRkNDsAawO0rYhmroFuZxoZwcRmVzxs0xAak%2bgWUCtHTNiER7Kps4XFqsLMZ7SgM1CufAXmw8TUmmXSpfeIvOw%3d

Or you can spend a few hundred more and get new from the regular Dell site.  8)

In my experience, using multiple monitors works better with flat screens. This one doesn't seem too strongly curved so it may be good, but I'd want to see a two 32inch monitor setup in person before going with that

Regardless, I can't see using a 32inch computer monitor at 1080p. Maybe for a TV when you're sitting far away, but sitting at a desk even 27inches at 1080p is pushing it.

Is this a good screen to use with two of them?

Any reccomendations for a good office desktop, most applications hosed on the web, some excel work. I'm guessing an i5 with 16gb and a 256MB SSD should be good. Any ideas? Need to connect it to to screens.

Preferably Dell but not a must.

Any good deals for a Desktop now?

Need for Business, basic browsing no heavy applications etc. I'm guessing 16GB Ram 256GB SSD would work.. I'd pay 7-800

Thanks

Newegg has the MINISFORUM collection of mini desktops on sale for good value. It may be that you can always get these prices, but in case users were not aware of this, I figured I would write a bit about them.
MINISFORUM has a good rep at Notebookcheck and other reviewers despite being a "no-name" Chinese brand, and I didn't see any negative reviews that normally accompany something like this.
The star of the show here is AMD's Radeon integrated graphics. It benchmarks better than the GTX 1060 (mobile) and around par to the GTX 980 (mobile), at significantly less power usage (and video RAM). Although hardcore gamers will not be satisfied with this, I imagine it is fine for graphics pros looking for a bargain. Casual gamers will definitely find enough with this.
The pricing is as follows:
$575 at Newegg gets you a Ryzen 9 6900HX, 16GB DDR5, and 512GB SSD. You also get a 1 yr $25 Newegg gift card.
If you want to add your own RAM and SSD, you can get the box with the processor for $469. (It supports PCIe 4.0.)
You can take a slight downgrade in power and get a box with a 7735HS, which is basically a refreshed 6800H but designed to use less power and get almost the same output, for $409, but you still need RAM and an SSD.

Not too shabby. Refurb at Woot today, i7-9700T (for those who like i7 stickers on their computers  :D) with at least 16GB of RAM, SFF Optiplexs. Should be good for at least 5 years of fast office work and also pretty fast at CPU-intensive stuff - 8 cores.
$400 for the base model, and the pricing isn't too terrible for adding up to 32GB of RAM and up to a 2TB SSD (you can do better on your own but not so so much better).

After 10 years, it's time for me to replace my work desktop. So back in May, I bought a loaded Opti7010 micro. 12th gen i7, 16gb, 512SSD, etc. It kept over heating, freezing, etc. They replaced the entire thing but upgraded it to an i9 since they couldn't find an exact match replacement (the original one was from Dell's Outlet store. Have bought dozens of desktops and laptops over the years and only had issues one time before this). Similar issues. Tech came a few times, and basically replaced every single part. But still overheating and freezing/going into deep-sleep randomly/restarting. So Dell sent out another replacement 2 months ago and still having those same issues. My IT guy suspects that the small micro form factor can't handle the powerful i7/i9. He's recommending that I go for a bigger PC, at least a small form factor.
1. is what he's saying make sense?
2. If yes, I'm looking for a good deal on a i7, SFF. Personally, I always preferred a Dell Opti because of the automatic 3-year warranty but I'm open to anything.
