Well consider this - the i5 of this model was on sale last week for 949 so unless you go with Dell Outlet this is a pretty nice price.
If you go with Dell outlet you can prob find this for a significantly cheaper

Someone asked me about this touchscreen:

I thought that he could do much better for that price but after I researched I realized that touchscreens are pretty expensive

I figured that if there is a better deal out there you would eventually post it.

I don't think he would go up to $1,099 (plus tax in NY).

BTW, what is your general opinion about windows touchscreens?

Well that one is 23" the other is 27" so big dif in size as well.

Unless used in a retail environment I don't get the idea of a desktop touchscreen. From where I sit at my desk it would be really inconvenient if I would reach out to touch the screen - doesn't seem natural and the 27" screen would have to be right on my face. I don't see it being practical at all.

Not sure why the HP so favored - the Dell system has 3rd generation i7 (vs. HP 2nd gen), can upgrade to 12gb memory ($75) and a better video card ($75) for the same $800?

Is it the extra year of warranty?

They don't come with win 7, but it can be installed if you try.
