Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

Maybe I'll do that, or I'll wait to do it on an SSD.

If you just got it - just do the cleaning!  Would you like me to give you a step-by-step guide?  It would have to be through PM though, as it may not be allowed on public forums.

This looks intriguing... I hate that Newegg.com themselves have it listed so much more expensive...

Was gonna jump on the Dell deal last week, after all, for what it is, it was a great discount. However, once everything calmed down, I started thinking that I might be "buying a Ferrari for city driving".
(I'm not a big techie so CMIIW) 95% of the use I give my computer is multiple browsers and multiple tabs open within each browser.
There are file downloads/uploads but almost never heavy ones.
Will a monster processor like i7 make any difference in my day-to-day usage or should I be looking at other specs to boost the speed for my specific needs? If yes to the latter, what should I focus on? Can anyone recommend a good deal with those specs?
TIA!
(I'm sure many others are in the same position as me and can use the same advice).

Everything really depends on the budget.. Faster processor is a better system and will most likely be a fast system even after some time (assuming everything else works properly). When you consider how much time you spend on a computer its easy to justify spending few hundred dollars more for increased speed in everything you do..

If you're saying that faster processor will affect multiple browsers/tabs and THAT'S the spec I need to look into for the above mentioned usage than I guess that's what I'll get...
I understood that fast processor will not affect that kind of usage.
Speed after some time is also an extremely important issue.

Looking for a few desktop computers. Prefer and i5 or higher. Must be able to support dual monitors (mostly web browsing/office work) with at least one of those being an HDMI. I didn't order the Optiplex 3010 off DDMS for this very reason (it only has display port and VGA and I can't start bothering with adapters right now).
