3 month means you are looking into prepaid phones.

cheapest deals are the "kosher" phones, that dont support text.

at times Orange has really super prepaid plans giving you alot of free mins the catch is its only good for say 1 month or so, its use it or lose it. theres an Orange store off of Malchai Yisroel in Geula down a street near The Brooklyn Bake Shop and acroiss teh street from it so you are heading away from Jaffa Rd. Another spot is near Kevish Ramot on Bar Ilan on a corner apx 1 block before K Ramot on the Ramot side of the street. both places take CCs and do everything via a computer I dont think the reg outlets that sells the Prepaid cards can offer these options as there are usually several that come and go and its done via a computer to load your time

since Im never there that long I simply must reload at the reg rates and get no extra mins :-((

I happen to own a prepaid cellcom sim, but I would need something else for my wife. Is there a point to buy a second sim with minutes, or get hold of somewhere that rents sims with minutes for a 2 week stay?
Should the 2nd sim be preferably cellcom, as my first line is also cellcom, or are the prices the same from cellcom to cellcom, as it is from cellcom to orange?
Or am I better off forgetting about my cellcom sim that I own, and getting to amigo phones, which will give us free walkie talkie I believe, or perhaps there is a Israeli company that I can rent at?
 Thanks

Generally cellcom has better plans (prepaid that is).

It is not cheaper to call another cellcom then another operator.

An amigos cellcom would be a smart move, as for the initial sim card, you'd need pay for the card (besides the credit).
With an amigos' cellcom, to top up, you can go to the same place to recharge for you and your wife.

Or if your amigos phone (any company) has a few sheks on the cell that didn't expire (last usually at least 9 months),  your wife can make you missed calls, and you can call back.

Texting is a great thing, and it is impossible (and not good) to set preventive measures to everything.
How does one get such a plan?

While were on the subject, I have a long term (18 mo) contract I pay:
20shek a mo. + 29ag 1st minute, 19ag after, 18ag sms.
I also have the 8.5 ag to usa plan (not inc. airtime)

Is that considered good? Is there anything better for long term?
