Looking to buy a new cell phone?
« on: August 12, 2012, 05:59:06 PM »
Thread for help for those looking for a new device - not carrier.

I'll start. Old question, but still no answer.

I'm looking for a phone that will work in Israel with Cellcom as I will make the switch to them (from kosher to non kosher)....

Android is fine but phone must have wifi, bluetooth and keyboard. I prefer a non flip phone but am flexible.

Doesn't have to be a Blackberry but would consider.

Looking to spend around $100 or less.

TIA!

IMHO $100 is a little skimpy for a decent Android or Blackberry.

You could get the BB Curve for $80 that has wifi a keyboard and bluetooth.

But basically any Android phone that is in the $100 range won't be a great phone -
Unless you are willing to buy a used phone.

I actually couldnt find the SIM version of the curve for $80 (the Verizon and Sprint one is that price)

This one is $95 and is Unlocked.

I am not exactly sure how internet on BB works in Israel, I think you could get a plan for Data w/o BB service...

Need some advice.  I'm up for a new phone.  The most important thing to me by far is email and I prefer a keypad to a touchpad.

Is Blackberry still the best or my purposes?
If you don't care why would you comment?

If you're happy with the Blackberry then stay with it.

Or you may want to look into something like this that has a keyboard

Search Motorola Android Keyboard on Amazon. There are a couple decent options just a bit more than $100.
