So if one wants to book for a "friend" or "relative" (w/ a diff last name), it may be able to work

Do yourself a favor and don't be so public about it.

Would defeat the purpose of editing it in the first place. ;)

Perhaps ask him to PM you...

UA tracks IP so that would be the first way to give up all of your accounts.

are you safer selling miles from your AMEX account? i assume the buyer of the miles then transfer them to specific airline accounts? does this layer of removal between you and the end user help not to get caught?

IME I have never had an issue transferring Amex to an airline account. I have Amex accounts with over 20 airline accounts linked and regularly add new ones and there is no issue.

Amex couldn't really say anything about it because how could they prevent a business from booking flights for employees?

Friend of mine sold his BA account with 321Kpoints. The buyer booked many short way tickets. There are only 850 points left after all bookings. Two months later, the 850 points was dedut from the account. My friend was curious what 850 points can do, that is when he found out that the account was reviewed. BA did not close the account, just removed all the remaining points. Later the buyer told my friend that 3 tickets was cancelled.
