#1- You need to be Amtrak elite or spend $200 per year on the card on Amtrak travel you can transfer points out to Continental or elsewhere

#2- It's a Chase card, so you might want to save your 6-month application period open for better offers

Even if you spend $200/year on Amtrak travel on the card there is still a limit of 25,000 miles that you can transfer annually unless you are amtrak elite.

"To transfer to CO miles (25K max per year), you must be elite with Amtrakor buy $200 worth of Amtrak tickets with their credit card. What I've done in the past is buy a refundable ticket waaaay out in the future, after the miles post from your transfer then cancel the Amtrak ticket for a refund."

I figured that might work, but why bother when you can just apply for a 30K free CO card or 50K free UA card?

I got a once-in-6-months denial letter from Chase last year.
Not sure if they still do that.
