At&t. Well i guess u ll know soon enough... Since u already left. Just to make sure. U have backed up and restored in itunes as per the instructions?

Not necessarily. Some foreign sims just don't support roaming

I had same issue. 2 things u can try. First would be to put a foreign sim in the phone and see if the phone doesn't say "Invalid SIM" or something like that. And second would be to call the carrier, give them the IMEI number and have them confirm that it is unlocked in their system.

You could also try to call Apple, and see if they could tell you its unlocked.

PM me the IMEI I could try to see with my service if its unlocked, but its not always accurate, sometimes it days locked when its not really.

I usually test it by inserting an international SIM. Inserting an ATT or T-Mobile SIM won't help you tell, cuz Sprint iPhones block those carries.

And this is a big release! Now it comes in GREY and has a fingerprint scanner so that the NSA can easily complete a database on everyone's fingerprints.

I don't think your fingerprint gets "scanned", it's a reader that can (fairly accurately) match your fingerprint to characteristics it stored on a local chip when you previously swiped.

I don't think it's setup to be uploaded anywhere, and even if can be, it isn't a proper scan, it's just a digital read.

Now that the new iPhone has been announced, which Verizon phone will be the most valuable to sell w/o a contract?

I paid full price for an iPhone 5 last November before I was eligible for an upgrade (in May). I'm happy with my current phone and ready to use my upgrade to get a new phone and sell it to recoup some of what I paid for the iphone 5. Any suggestions?

Apple specifically announced that the fingerprint will be SOLELY stored locally on the device, as AsherO mentioned. Regarding color, gold is available as well(not that it's important), not just grey and silver. The many internal updates in addition to the camera were at LEAST the same level of a jump from the previous generation as Samsung's devices. Let's take an example from the incremental changes to the Galaxy S4 from the S3.

About smartphone market share: Although at this point Android has a steep lead globally(due to the wide socio-economical spectrum coupled with an influx of low-mid tier Android devices), Apple's market share in the US market, the world's most profitable, is at an impressive 40%. In other words, 4 out of every 10 smartphones owned in the US are Iphones.

No need to get defensive, was just commenting on the dropoff of commentary from the iphone 5 release (39 pages) versus the 5s (nil).

Frankly I think they have a lot of catching up to do with the S4 and they won't be doing it for at least another year.

It just sounded from your posts that the ONLY upgrade to the 5s was the grey color and Touch ID fingerprint sensoring,
that the fingerprint feature is stored anywhere else besides for the user's device, and that Apple's smartphone market
share is doomed.
