How far iPhone has fallen. Not even a single post on the release.
And this is a big release! Now it comes in GREY and has a fingerprint scanner so that the NSA can easily complete a database on everyone's fingerprints.

iPhone market share/popularity on the other hand...
Apple specifically announced that the fingerprint will be SOLELY stored locally on the device, as AsherO mentioned. Regarding color, gold is available as well(not that it's important), not just grey and silver. The many internal updates in addition to the camera were at LEAST the same level of a jump from the previous generation as Samsung's devices. Let's take an example from the incremental changes to the Galaxy S4 from the S3.
About smartphone market share: Although at this point Android has a steep lead globally(due to the wide socio-economical spectrum coupled with an influx of low-mid tier Android devices), Apple's market share in the US market, the world's most profitable, is at an impressive 40%. In other words, 4 out of every 10 smartphones owned in the US are Iphones.
US smartphone adoption is on the verge of peaking. It's loyalty what counts now. Based on the findings of the following linked survey, where 3 times as many Samsung owners switched to Iphone than vice versa, Apple's US market share will grow. The 5C will help that. Even more so globally.
