I apologize for the erroneous assumption, Dan. PG's sarcasm was definitely more apparent.

Selling cheap iPhone will kill their profitability and their brand. Asa long term investor, I don't care that the stock has taken a hit today as I am sure these phones are more beneficial for aapl's future.

Surely you realized that this company has lost its way. It used to be all about massive innovation, now they just make decent phones and computers. There is no reason to assume that they will have any real "start up style" growth, they have fully matured. Its still a decent company but nothing exciting.

I never thought they'll continue to have startup style growth. I still think it's under priced. And frankly I believe that there isn't much room to innovate anymore after all the main categories have already been innovated by apple already. Phone, tablets, mp3 players, where else can they make a massive impact the way they did before and still make a ton of money? Maybe TV or watches where TVs are a very slowly innovating business or watches which people need even less than gimmicky smartphones.

Either way, I believe that their current products and the iterations that are to come in the future will be enough to keep piles of cash pumping into their doors. I would start getting worried when an iPhone sized phone seriously competes with the iPhone.

Nope. I didn't hear good things about it though either. But haven't read much on it.

Try it.

Not sure where you heard negative reviews on the One. Everyone I recall wrote good reviews.

Just looked up the specs, the size isn't the same. The HTC One is much bigger, and therefore in a different market.
I'm gonna read some reviews now anyways.

It is larger... but that's the reason I gave up the i5. All they did was elongate the screen. Silliness.

I can't talk for you, but for me and many others, using anything larger than the iPhone is not comfortable.

To say that all they did was elongate the screen is silliness. They also made the iPhone faster every update, better camera, better battery, thinner, and now iOS 7 is a big step in right direction software wise. Finger print detection. Do they have to change the hardware/software design every update?

I also enjoy that they don't stick in quarter-baked or unused features in every phone they come out with. NFC sounds great but does anyone actually use it? Does it save time? Barely. Are the iPhones specs top notch? I don't think so, but iPhones have enough power and run efficient software that the speed especially in the long run will blow any other phone away.

If you want a solid device that doesn't need tinkering or getting used to, that works well out of the box, you get an iPhone.

I was only talking about the i5 (don't make me say it). Not the i5S.

In any event, when going from the 4s to the 5, the only real, meaningful difference, was the screen. Upping the speed, making it slightly thinner, etc, is what every phone manufacturer does when updating/refreshing a phone.

Again, you haven't used an HTC One -- what "quarter-baked" features are you referring to that take away from the user experience?

As per iOS7, feel free to give this a read for an interesting perspective:

I know you were. I responded like that because many people complain that apple never updates anything.

I'll agree that apple should have done more for the I5, but I still think that it was top in the class in many areas.

You are right. I was referring to the Samsung phones among other android devices that I have used.

IPhone makes a good product. Android makes good products as well as some less than great devices.

Now within the good Android devices you have some phones that have tons of extra added "gimmicky" features that some people use and others love.
You can't always compare iPhone to Android.

They both make great products.
