i AM LOOKING FOR GOOD DEALS BTWN ORD AND LAX IN JUNE...ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS OR TRICKS?
i HAVE ABOUT 100K IN STARWOOD MILES BUT DONT KNOW IF I SHOULD USE THEM.

I am trying and trying to find flights going from ord to lax on 6/13 and coming back on 6/16

Are your dates flexible?
Can you go from MKE?

You can take a bus straight from ord-mke or a train from either downtown or glenview straight into mke.

The only date that is felexible for me is the return-I can return either the 15 or 16-
I cannot do MKE

06/13-06/15: ORD-LAX is $269 nonstop on Orbitz on an Alaska codeshare operated on an AA flight. (The same exact AA flight sold by AA is $339!)

A couple of questions:
1)do you think Alaska is the cheapest I will find it?
2)Do you think it is worth it to use 75k miles +$400 (for 3 people) rather than pay the 269 on alaska airlines?
3)Should I keep my starpoints for a more expensive flight?

Another option is flying out of Midway on Southwest to Orange Co or Burbank airports all in for about $280 ea.  So this a cash and miles thing you were thinking of?  So if your cash outlay is $400 then the miles are only worth  $700+ of the expense or as miles 3 round trips domestic.  If you can afford it, buy the tix and if not then use the miles.  Another option is to buy 2 tix with miles and two with cash.  If you want to take a chance, you could put the dates on a watch on Travelocity or Hotwire.
