Don'ts
gym membership:Don't buy your wife a gym membership or any work out device. Ever. Like ever ever. Even if she asks or begs for it.
Drug store candy: If you are going to go and buy her some sort of dessert, don't bother going to your local CVS or Walmart for that if you don't intend to get yelled at.
Items that need fixing in the house: Don't buy your wife a washing machine, dish washer, vacuum cleaner bc its needed in the house. Would you have not gotten it if it wasn't her birthday around the corner?
Call your wife female spouse.

Do's
Jewelry : Diamonds ALWAYS work.
Call her Female Spouse. The capital letters make all the difference.

Thats a last resort I guess - I would prefer to try without asking her, but that may be a mistake....
depending on your wife, it may be a bigger mistake to try and guess what she will like

she never said, "oh I always wanted x item?" If so you are really lucky. Every day I have my wife making a list of things that she wants.

What about a nice short getaway?
A trip is nice, and may even be good for the marriage.  But I think something she can keep enjoying - every time she wears the jewelry - may be better.

Whats a creative/good anniversary gift for my wife (10 years)?
There were quite a few threads about gift ideas. Search. There were good ideas in them

What are you getting your DW as a gift?
« Reply #365 on: December 22, 2016, 03:19:07 PM »
Birthdays, Anniversaries, 8 Days of Chanukah, Holidays & Mother's Day.
There are many times of year gifts are given and with Chanukah at our door step
tis the season to rack my brain for ideas....

But I'm all Out of Ideas. So the burden falls on the DDF community.

Please help...

She just got the Iphone 7
I've given her Jewelry but now that she sells jewelry she has a store full of it.... so that's covered.
Clothing.... she buys herself and i wouldn't know where to start
If I bought her another cookbook I'll get hit over the head with it!

- books and movies give you the wrong impression that these things work.

so a spa certificate and/or your Amazon $500 gift card sounds perfect. You're all set, and that only took 14 minutes on DDF. (Chocolate is nice, too.  ;) )
