Car Rental - HELP!
« on: March 25, 2010, 12:15:51 PM »
I'm looking to rent a car in San Diego at SAN airport from 3/28 at 11:00PM to 4/4 at 4:00PM....basically a full week.
Prices are obscene.
I tried x528314 (AWD code from avis (as posted a week or so ago)...still comes out to $344...and that was decent by comparison.

Any other coupon codes?
Anyone really good at this who wants to lend a hand.

I'm looking for a standard Car or comparable. Hoping to spend $200 or less.

HELP!

PS Whats the deal with FOX rent a car?

Its funny...
chabad only gets me down to 298.
AMEX Centurion services couldnt get it really below 300.
Get this...AAA website got me HERTZ!!! for 258.
cheapest listing elsewhere was 350. (centurion had it at 400)
There must be a way to get it under 260...

C'mon team, gimme a hand here.

its usually a few dollars cheaper than hotwire, so its probably a waste of time to start at $10

@moish:
you mean that priceline's bid price accepted is usually a few dollars less than hotwire's special price offer?

thats only 1 bid per day per car type, so if a person starts with an economy car and is denied then they can try for a compact etc etc.  If all that fails then use a different email address and CC and simply keep repeating till you run out of both.

But it pays to also know what it would cost you if you werent bidding on it, so go to say orbitz and find the lowest quote for what you want, least you end up paying more then you should have.

At times I found had I not 1st checked a site such as orbitz that had I bid what they told I needed to get the car, I would have paid $15 more then I did using the Codes available. PL is NOT always the cheapest so dont think that it is
