Here is how I got $100 of driving credits toward my new Hertz on Demand account.
First when I applied I entered promo code "126SE1" which gave me $25 dollars of credit (had to call because it somehow didn't post to my account).
Then I figured I'd utilize the $75 credit promotion for turning in a competitors membership card - problem was I didn't have any.
So I found that I can get a free U Car Share account by entering coupon code "other" to waive the $25 registration fee.
But U Car Share doesn't provide you with a physical card, instead with a unique code. So I emailed Hertz and requested that they honor the promotion if I'd providing them with an email confirming the cancellation of my U Car Share membership.
First they replied that they've never received such a request and don't have a way of honoring it. And then, 10 minutes later, I got the following email:

"Dear Mr. Lev,
I apologize for the 1st response we sent. We have decided that we will be
able to honor the promotion for cardless competitors. You must send in
confirmation of their cancelled membership. An access card is preferred,
but if not available then an email or written letter from the car sharing
service confirming cancellation be required to receive the $75 credit."

I called U Car Share, cancelled my membership and asked the CSR to send me an email confirming this.
Go the email, sent it to Hertz and 10 days later I have $100 of driving credits in my account!

Did you every use them? It looks good... I got the $25 credit but never had a chance to use it yet.

Used them once so far.
Picked up at one of the Williamsburg locations (about 15 min from CH) for a one way to JFK. Very simple, scanned my key over the reader and drove off right away.
On the way I got a call from a Hertz rep through the in-car system to make sure everything is "ok"... So I ended up getting my ride to JFK for $15.50 total, gas included.
With my $100 credit that's 6 rides to JFK!

No mention of an expiration in the offer or the credit invoice.

I'm not sure, but that's irrelevant.
Once you're a member, just call CS and cancel and request and email confirmation. (The rep I spoke to wrote out an email for me because they don't have a standard email confirming cancellation.)

The dropoff at jfk is at the regular hertz returns? If not was there a shuttle to the terminal from there?

It's at a designated area toward the rear (which is actually right near the entrance to the AirTrain) of the JFK Hertz location.

Only available in select locations.

i just spoke to HOD on the phone and they said that they are not supposed to give the promo over email and i should fill out this small form that they have for download and send it in with my cancellation email (preferably access key from other company ) and theyll refund me.

which email did u use to send in the proof?

I send an email to membercare@hertz.com and attached the cancellation email as a PDF.
