You almost had me convinced I'm going from sun. to thur. but I don't think such a far trip is worth it for less than a week.
The plane is not part of the fun for me.
Back to finding someplace less thank 5 hrs traveling.
What I don't understand ( I know i'm opening a can of worms) is how obviously frum people go to some of these places that are really only beaches and they are packed.

That's the beauty of Hawaii.  Beaches with not a soul in site and some of the best hiking and other tznius activities in the world.

Fly in CO BusinessFirst nonstop from NYC or via IAH and you'll enjoy every second of the flight...
And like I said Sunday-Thursday is plenty of time to enjoy an island.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Definitely agree with Hawai'i. I used to live on Oahu when i went to college, and will definitely return there permanently. Call me crazy but its up there with Israel.

I just booked tickets to san juan, pr, and made reservations at the marriott over there....anyone ever been to that marriott or san juan? and have any ideas of what to do there? I have no problems just hanging out, but curious if there's anything cool over there that I wouldn't want to miss..

check out el younke rainforest they  have a bunch of walking trails that are free and its alot of fun. also on luquillo beach there is a guy that rents kayaks for 10 for 30 minutes you basically just row back and forth but its not bad also in fajardo there are boats that you can hire for the day nd they will take u to where ever you want for a really reasonable rate. also near el younke there is a ranch that you can go horseback riding. in san juan itself there is old town which is nice to walk around also the beaches and golf courses if you are into that

Dug this thread up to post The Landings St. Lucia which is coming up on JS in a week from today. Would love to hear a TR from a fellow DDF member. The location is remote and the rooms have kitchens which may help many members here.
(IIRC it is quite a drive from the airport and Helicopter is an option.)

The Hyatt Regency Aruba is coming up on JS in a week.
Some emailing to the GM may be able to apply an upgrade cert to a reservation from here.
The hotel got top reviews on TripAdvisor.

I looked at the weather forecast for the next 10 days - scattered showers. Do they typically last for a few minutes or longer? I'd rather it not rain the whole time....

It generally passes quickly. It's the warm humid weather that brings on frequent showers. Where will you be headed?

Can anyone recommend any? I'm looking to go from Feb 6 to Feb 9. Beach access would be nice but all I really need is a decent pool
