My friend used his 7 night cert here and had very good things to say about the private island but was not too impressed with the actual hotel. Also said most of the guests there were a lot older which was a bit strange, he's in early 30s
The guests in the adults only tower were a little older, but there was a mix.

I'm in progress of writing my TR. I think it's a fine hotel. Room was clean, and new, albeit small. There was a chaise with a small table that was ideal for eating. Service was fine - we had to chase them down for a few things with them heating the meals but otherwise, no significant issues. Housekeeping did a good job, they had turndown service, free bottled water. Nothing much on the property that's so exciting to do, but since we spent most of our time on the private island, it didn't bother me.

I was in marina, can't speak to Island tower rooms. I think one would be hard pressed to find a better overall value for CC certs.

If I were paying points in the future and didn't care about using the cert, I might consider the cat 6 Marriott Solaris which is definitely more popular and nicer, though lacks the private island.

Having a hard time deciding between Aruba (staying at the Hyatt or Renaissance) or Thompson Beach Hotel in Playa del Carmen (paid rates seem very cheap for my dates). Any major differences between the 2 destinations?

Only thing I'm thinking of is that kosher situation would be easier in Mexico b/c there are a few restaurants

Not sure this is the best location to post as I'm not limited to the Caribbean islands... However, let's try this...

I need suggestions and advice.

Looking to spend 7-10 days alone just husband and wife (no kids) on a trip that will be once in a lifetime opportunity to escape the kids for a full week or longer.

Trip will take place in July 2020.
Flying from: JFK (or similar)
Airline: Any but have Jetblue Mosaic

Requirements:
Only thing my wife wants is sun and water. Just a relaxing day in the heat with a NICE pool and drinks is enough to make her happy.

In the past we always limited ourselves to places that had kosher food (ie: Miami, Vegas, Cancun, San Juan, Bahamas etc) but she wants something more "exotic" but at the same time the trip is longer than the average vacation we take (2-3 days) so food may be a significant factor.

Was thinking of Hawaii or Maldives, but not sure of the food situation and again having "decent" food options is an important factor on a 10 day trip (as oppose to a 2-3 day trip where we can live on fruits and yogurts).

Any suggestions? Any ideas? Any tips?

It will be greatly appreciated.

Aruba has better beaches and snorkeling, plus hiking etc. Depends what you want to do.

Anyone been to Anguilla? Is bringing kosher food an issue?

I am flying into SXM and can either take a 10 min flight or 20 min boat over. The advantage of the flight seems to be not having to clear customs twice.

Also, any recommendations on activities?

Why can't you bring your own food to the Maldives or anywhere else in the world?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Don't some countries restrict food entry?

I remember a while back having issues bringing meat to Jamaica, when I went... Maybe that changed.

Baby doesn't need a passport for USVI.
I think there are good flight deals to USVI.
I'd say St. Kitts over St. Thomas.

What's with bringing cooked Meat/Chicken to Barbados?
I don't see any differentiating anywhere, yet I notice people saying they brought POM meals

Also, are there any (Kosher) TRs for Barbados, or any information here other than this?
