I opened a SPG with Amex last month, but I just pulled my credit report and it says the date of opening is 07/2011Does Amex go by the date you first opened a card with them period?
Sounds to me like it's a good thing then? Gives me longer history for free on new cards?
Sometimes AU's do get backdated and you have to call to have it done.
Did you mean to say sometimes AU's don't get backdated? I am a little confused by this statement
But my wife's card says on it by member since when she got added as the au. Does that make a difference?
Credit score and then when you apply for an Amex you will have an aged account in your own name.
You add someone on as an AU to a card that has a long history. They then get a card in their own name and it will be backdated to the same as the AU card. I have done this for my kids and it works wonders.
the only bad part is that the au has to get along with amex i tried adding a worker who had a shady past as a au and he was declinedwhile with chase you dont even have to give a social
With Amex also you don't have to give the ssn
Yes, that is not good. I said this in a previous post that this does happen where it does not get backdated to the primary card. Reports on CB claim you can call Amex and they will backdate it to the same as your card. Then she can apply for a card on her own and receive the backdated date the same as the AU card.
Thanks I'll let you know how it goes
