Which Card to use on award travel fees?
« on: August 27, 2012, 11:19:51 PM »
I have a umpe, chase sapphire & a freedom.

Which card should i use for the fees on award travel (i.e. lap infant)?

Also, is there a way to waive the service fee of less then 21 days?

Use the Sapphire and you'll get 2.14x UR. If the fees are less than $6-7 then it might be worth using the Freedom card (if you have a linked Chase checking account).

If (and only if) you have status with UA the fees are reduced/waived, and fees are reduced if you have the United Club Card CC. There's no known way (as in shtick) around the fee.

The cutoff is actually about $9.50.

ETA: $9.615 to be exact.
