Perhaps, but even when expressing frustration at someone, even if you're gonna be confrontational, there's a big difference between responding sharply (like duvid crockett did) but making a point at the same time... or simply name-calling to insult someone, without any constructive purpose.
IMHO, even if you disagree with someone, you still must respect them as a person. By calling somone names, you are abandoning the original argument, and resorting to a personal attack that has nothing to do with the original subject - its only purpose is to belittle the person you don't agree with.
I didn't either like chuchem's comment (as you can see, I +1'ed duvid crockett), but it's still not right to call him names. Especially...
Whether it needs to be mentioned (during elul) is another story.
