you can go to a nicer place to eat in manhatan then you usually do then go for a walk along the water in battery park behind the jewish museum. Its gorgeous there and empty at night i've found street parking there plenty of times at night. The weather is also gonna be great that night so a walk would be nice

Yea this. Women just want to romanticized. More often than not a cheaper but more personal and thought put gift > a more expensive but also more generic idea (unless the generic idea is a fabulous piece of jewelry )
