United free bags

I booked an award ticket on United and I have a explorer card that gives me free first bag however I forgot to use the card to pay for the security charges, will they still give me a free bag if I just show them the card?

Is there a way around this?

You don't need to pay with the card to get the free bag. As long as it is linked to ur mileage account you should be good to go.
Worse case you just show them the are at check in

I booked tickets through United and I have the United credit card. However, the flights are on Air Canada, even though it is a United flight number. ANyone know if I will be able to get the free bags?
