Barclay reconsideration line: 866-408-4064, Mon-Fri 8AM - 5PM EST.
The 24-hour number is 866-408-4064
New 24 hour number is 866-205-5973
you can finally fax documents to Barclays the number is 866-836-6959

Based on the phone reps, an application usually remains in the system for 90 days, during which you can ask for a reconsideration.
However, if 30 days have passed, it will incur another hard pull.

There have been a few reports of Barclay pulling credit again when reconsidering - even when specifically asked not to.
Make sure to explicitly tell the rep that you don't want another credit pull. The benefit of such action would be that if later you see they did pull your credit you can call up and speak to a manager and have the pulls removed (based on first-hand accounts from this thread).

If you want to guarantee that you don't get another pull, freeze your credit report.

While Barclay recon reps are usually very tough to deal with, there have been sporadic reports of them reconsidering by reallocating credit-line from other cards. Additionally, there are a few reports indicating success with the 3BM.
Personal and biz didn't combine

Barclay recon reps take notes of each phone call and subsequent reps usually regurgitate the previous rep's reply.

Barclays has a 6/24 rule similar to chase 5/24. Not hardcoded like chase though.

I applied for some barclays cards and they sent me a letter saying to call. I called and they told me that I need to send in a bunch of ID things (SS card, DL, Bill). Is there any way around this? I don't like sending this type of stuff through the mail.

Thanks!

I would ask for an email address or fax number so you're not snail mailing with all the personal info.  JAT

Did you HUCA just in case?  Other reps don't know what they're talking about.

Applied for Barclays Business card, had all the right answers but they said I had 8 new credit cards in the last year so they couldn't approve me. HUCA? I heard Barclays notes how many times you call and if you call too many times, they might shut all your cards down.

Applied for BOA Business card, had all the right answers but they said I had 8 new credit cards in the last year so they couldn't approve me. HUCA? I heard Barclays notes how many times you call and if you call too many times, they might shut all your cards down.
BOA ≠ Barclays

Called back again but no go, they just read what the first person said, too many products in the last year from Chase, Citibank, etc.

Just applied for Arrival, and got pending. I got a USAirways in December. Is it to better to call recon right away or 1st wait for response?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

With chase the consesus seems to be better call right away. Being that Barclays is less flexible, Im speculating it may be better to just let them do thei thing 1st.

When you don't get a instant approval with barclays and you get they have to review it... Is that usually a denial ?

I don't have much experience with not getting instantly approved with Barclays (Thank Gd) .  Are chances slim once that happens?

Data point: Just HUCAed for 2nd time. She literally read word for word what I told the first rep. So, they're taking notes. Good notes.

I was able to move partial CL from US Air to Arrival to get it approved on first phone call.   This was the same day of the application.

I just got instantly approved for my first Barclaycard (US Air card) at the end of April. Now that the Arrival+ card offers Chip+PIN I was thinking of applying for that one.

My CL is only $5k so I don't know how much they can reallocate if not instantly approved.

What are the chances of getting instantly approved or even approved by calling recon?

How long would you say I'd need to wait?

I didn't apply yet but figured I would post here in advance.

I want 2 cards the cash back card as well as the Lufthansa one. Didn't read through entire thread but did skim a bit and was wondering if a 2bm with Barclays would work. I really am in this for the cash back one so wouldn't want to do both and just get approved for the Lufthansa card. I don't have anything with Barclay.

Thanks!
