Barclay reconsideration line: 866-408-4064, Mon-Fri 8AM - 5PM EST.
The 24-hour number is 866-408-4064
New 24 hour number is 866-205-5973
you can finally fax documents to Barclays the number is 866-836-6959

Based on the phone reps, an application usually remains in the system for 90 days, during which you can ask for a reconsideration.
However, if 30 days have passed, it will incur another hard pull.

There have been a few reports of Barclay pulling credit again when reconsidering - even when specifically asked not to.
Make sure to explicitly tell the rep that you don't want another credit pull. The benefit of such action would be that if later you see they did pull your credit you can call up and speak to a manager and have the pulls removed (based on first-hand accounts from this thread).

If you want to guarantee that you don't get another pull, freeze your credit report.

While Barclay recon reps are usually very tough to deal with, there have been sporadic reports of them reconsidering by reallocating credit-line from other cards. Additionally, there are a few reports indicating success with the 3BM.
Personal and biz didn't combine

Barclay recon reps take notes of each phone call and subsequent reps usually regurgitate the previous rep's reply.

Barclays has a 6/24 rule similar to chase 5/24. Not hardcoded like chase though.

I applies for the arrival and got a denial letter.
I have called twice and spoke to 2 supervisors and they said that they cannot overide the system and there is nothing they can do.
Can someone please give me a number to reps that can do something?
It's likely more about the reason for denial, than the number you are calling. Would this be your first Barclaycard? Your first Arrival card? Do you have good credit?

I have had 2 barclay cards in the past and a credit score between 750-800 for over 10 years.

What was your reason for denial?

Was told by recon that I was denied for Arrival Plus cause I have the regular Arrival and I can't have both. They didn't even do a pull cause of that.

Is this something new? I have done this in the past?

It happened to me a few weeks ago. IME there is no getting around it. The system won't allow it. I was able to close my arrival and successfully recon the arrival plus a week later

did anyone have this problem after downgrading to a different card (not arrival)?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

its not about previously having it. I got a letter in the mail that says they are considered to be the same product and therefore you can't be approved for one whole you have the other

I currently have the Aviator card with a cl of 2k.
I applied for the arrival plus, and was declined.
Reason being that I opened "seven cards" within the last year, and 2k credit is sufficient.
Rep. didn't want to consider closing Aviator to approve this one.
Question: if I close the Aviator card, and then I call recon. a couple days later, will that make it easier to get approved, since I won't have any current Barclay cards open ?

Closing a card wouldn't necessarily make you seem like a better customer. Rather a churner. (More so with Barclay)
Ultimately, it depentds on the rep's mood. If the Aviator is important to you don't take a chance. Although, one can sometimes get them to reopen cards. Weigh the risks.

Strange, I was declined for opening 9 cards in past 2-3 months, recon allowed me to move 2k from aviator and approve the A+, recon'ed again 2 days later and pushed up CL to 10k..

I don't ever have much luck with difficult recon.

is there a consensus about whether its worth it to call recon or wait out pending status and then call if denied?
