Don't do this too often and don't bring luggage...

Nyc-dtw would have to be on delta. There isnt any sure cheap option but canton akron ohio (cak) is usually the cheapest. You can also try bufallo (buf) or pit. For nyc-dtw i usually try just about every city in the midwest to find the cheapest good luck

Just boarded a flight from phl-dtw-pit i plan to get off in dtw and skip the second leg. Its a first class ticket so the agent let me change my dtw-pit leg to tomorrow morning therefore i was able to check bags to dtw. The first agent didnt let i just got back in line and the second agent let me do the switch.

Skipping the last leg of a flight
« Reply #11 on: April 28, 2010, 08:54:47 PM »
I have an interesting scenario.

If i am flying with my wife and we have a stopover. For Example: YOW to ORD and there is a stopover in DCA.

I need to be in DCA that day and want to skip the second flight. My wife, who is on the same reservation plans to continue on to ORD.

Obviously i would only have a carry on. Would me missing the last leg of the flight affect her in any way being that she is on the same reservation? Are they going to ask her where i am?

You could just book each of you on a separate reservation.

Thats true. I was wondering what would happen if it WAS the same reservation?
Also, if I have elite status and want to get all the checked bags for free, she would have to be on the same reservation.

I once had a flight w/ czech airlines flying tlv-prauge-montreal-toronto. I wanted to end up in milwaukee and I booked a seperate ticket from montreal to milwaukee. when I tried to get them to send my luggage to montreal instead of toronto, they charged me to change my ticket. (of course I complained and they gave the $ back) when I got off in montreal they had border police only letting out those with tickets to montreal and not toronto so watch out

Hidden-city ticketing doesn't work well with luggage.

yep, But  Id book both on the same PNR and then after its tkted call up and ask that they split the res into 2 reses .That way the Mrs gets her own but since it was originally booked as 1 the both of them will still get the free bags that David is entitled to. On the way back the Mrs checks in the bags and David checks in none. Mission accomplished

Theres no problem doing this with CO at all. When asked why just tell them in order to get the Upgrade chances improved. Before doing this,Id make a res for the 2 of you and see what happens, if its with UA since you will have 24 hrs in which to cancel the res for a full refund. Dont use the exact cities you will eventually be traveling to so that way theres no paper trail. If its a AC or ANA tkt ,You Got Me
